La Scuola Italiana a DC
Questi corsi sono destinati UNICAMENTE a bambini e ragazzi che abbiano un buon vocabolario e capiscono già la lingua italiana sufficientemente bene per seguire le lezioni che sono esclusivamente in italiano. Il livello della lingua parlata è meno importante, e sarà compito delle nostre bravissime insegnanti portarli ad un livello di comunicazione verbale adeguato per la fine dell'anno scolastico.
I nostri docenti sono preparati per risvegliare l'interesse per la nostra lingua nei bambini che hanno almeno un genitore italiano, o che hanno passato delle estati in Italia, ma che fanno ancora fatica a parlare correttamente, o che preferiscono rispondere in inglese
Alla fine dell'anno, anche grazie all'effetto "gruppo classe", i bambini si sentono sicuri e non hanno più timore ad esprimersi in italiano, malgrado possano fare ancora degli errori.
I "Corsi integrativi di lingua e cultura italiana" si basano sul curricolo della scuola italiana e sono strutturati secondo un progetto in 30 lezioni (di 1h30, 2 ore in settimana o 3 ore al sabato in presenza o via Zoom) sviluppato in collaborazione con l’Ufficio Scuola dell’Ambasciata e con l’Università per Stranieri di Siena.
Per gli studenti italiani, con un progetto di permanenza all'estero di lungo periodo, il corso rappresenta un'ottima e unica opportunità per imparare il corretto uso della lingua e per avere un approccio organico alla lettura e cultura italiana.
I corsi di italiano preparano al futuro inserimento degli studenti k-12 nelle scuole italiane in quanto seguono le Indicazioni dei programmi ministeriali, ma non consentono automaticamente di ricevere l’equipollenza che è di competenza degli Uffici Scolastici Regionali in Italia e del Ministero dell’Istruzione.
Gli attestati rilasciati alla fine del corso integrativo sono documenti di natura informativa che unitamente al titolo di studio rilasciato dalla scuola locale con la correlata dichiarazione di valore mirano a fornire ulteriori elementi utili per consentire ai dirigenti scolastici o a chi di competenza di poter inserire lo studente nella classe più idonea.

If 4 or less than 4 students in a class, we will mix two contiguous classes, or TUITION increases by 10%.

TUITION
Tuition is due by check to “CILS/Ente Gestore”. Please, send to Casa Italiana Ente Gestore, 595 Third street, NW Washington DC 20001.
If you can’t pay by check, please contact the office at info@casaitalianaente.org or call 202-650 7169. An additional fee may be applied.
First check of half tuition ($700, $450, $400 or $350) is due BEFORE or the first day of classes, the second one, BEFORE January 31st, 2024. Tuition paid after September 30th, will have a supplementary fee of $300.
Returned checks: There will be a $30 fee for any checks returned by the bank.
Elementary textbooks are included in tuitions and delivered the first day of school by the teachers.
Middle and High school’s textbooks can be purchased and picked up at Casa Italiana. A flat rate of $30.00 will be applied for shipping.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY
Casa Italiana is not liable for the wellbeing and safety of students who are in or around our facilities before the program begins or after it ends. Although every effort is made to provide a safe environment, there is always a risk of accident. The parents agree to be responsible for any medical bills incurred resulting from injury during the class. The parents agree to release Casa Italiana from any responsibility for accidents of any kind. If necessary, the parents authorize Casa Italiana to administer first aid and/or authorize medical treatment of the child, and to release Casa Italiana from any and all liability for the unintentional exposure or harm due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Drop-ins for most classes are also available.
Weather Related Closings or delays: On days in question, please call 202-650 7169, or visit our web site for up-to-date information. We follow Montgomery County Public Schools and DC government decisions as a guideline.
Withdrawal policies: Students withdrawing from a course after the third meeting will not be refunded, but a partial credit towards the next registration will be issued, if the withdrawal is due to extenuating circumstances (e.g., health).
Make-up policy: If you must miss a class, please notify the office. You may request to attend a similar class during the same week.
AP Italian
È importante che tutti gli studenti madrelingua italiano facciano l’esame AP (Advanced Placement) in Italiano.
Non solo testimonia la vostra conoscenza approfondita della lingua e della cultura, ma vi da anche la possibilità di ottenere crediti universitari.
Casa Italiana offre un CORSO GRATUITO di preparazione a tutti gli studenti che possiedono una buona competenza linguistica in italiano e che intendono presentarsi all’esame come privatisti.
